Detailed Day To Day Itinerary - 8 Days Luxury Golden Triangle India Tour

Day 1: Welcome to Delhi – Your Indian Adventure Begins

Your incredible journey starts the moment you touch down in Delhi or when we pick you up from your hotel. Imagine stepping out and being greeted by your personal driver holding a sign with your name – that’s when it really hits you: you’re in India! We know that after a long international flight, the last thing you want is stress and confusion. That’s why we make this first day all about getting you settled in, comfortable, and excited for what’s ahead.

As your private vehicle whisks you through Delhi’s streets, you’ll get your first glimpses of this fascinating city – the blend of ancient and modern, the energy, the colors. Before you know it, you’ll arrive at your luxury hotel, where a refreshing welcome drink and warm hospitality await. These aren’t just any hotels; we’ve handpicked properties like The Oberoi or The Leela Palace, where every detail speaks of elegance and where you can truly unwind. Check in, freshen up, and take a moment to let it sink in – you’re really here!

The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at your own pace. Feeling adventurous? Take a stroll around the hotel’s neighborhood. Exhausted from travel? Treat yourself to a rejuvenating spa treatment (many of our luxury hotels have world-class spas). Hungry? The hotel’s restaurants serve both international comfort food and exquisite Indian cuisine – perfect for your first taste of authentic flavors. In the evening, we recommend a welcome dinner either at your hotel or at one of Delhi’s celebrated restaurants like Indian Accent or Bukhara, where you can savor dishes that’ll set the tone for the culinary journey ahead.

Day 2: Discovering Old and New Delhi – Where History Meets Modernity

Get ready for your first full day of exploration, and what a day it’s going to be! Delhi is like two cities in one – the ancient walled city with its narrow lanes and Mughal grandeur, and New Delhi with its wide boulevards and colonial architecture. Today, you’ll experience both, and trust us, by the end of the day, you’ll understand why Delhi captivates every visitor.

We’ll start the morning in Old Delhi, and this is where India really comes alive. Your expert guide will lead you through the magnificent Jama Masjid, one of India’s largest mosques, where the courtyard can hold 25,000 worshippers. Standing in that vast space, looking up at the stunning domes and minarets, you’ll feel the weight of history – this mosque has stood here since 1656. Then comes the Red Fort, the iconic symbol of India’s independence, with its massive red sandstone walls that once protected Mughal emperors. Walking through the fort, your guide will paint pictures of the lavish courts, the intricate throne room, and the lives of royalty who called this home.

But here’s where it gets really fun – we’ll take you on a traditional rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk, Old Delhi’s legendary market. Hold on tight as your rickshaw weaves through impossibly narrow lanes filled with shops selling everything from spices to silks, jewelry to street food. The sights, the sounds, the aromas – this is sensory overload in the best possible way. Your guide will point out hidden gems and share stories that bring these ancient streets to life.

After working up an appetite, we’ll stop for lunch at a handpicked restaurant where you can savor authentic Delhi cuisine. Then we’ll head to New Delhi, where the contrast is striking. Wide, tree-lined avenues replace narrow lanes. Here you’ll drive past India Gate, the war memorial that looks stunning against Delhi’s blue sky, and see the President’s House (Rashtrapati Bhavan) with its impressive architecture. We’ll visit Humayun’s Tomb, the beautiful precursor to the Taj Mahal (yes, even more beautiful things are coming!), and the towering Qutub Minar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that’s been standing tall since the 12th century.

As evening approaches, we can take you to Dilli Haat, a wonderful open-air market where artisans from different Indian states showcase their handicrafts. It’s the perfect place to pick up your first souvenirs and see the diversity of Indian art and culture in one spot.

  • Breakfast at your luxury hotel with multiple cuisine options

Day 3: Delhi to Agra – Journey to the City of the Taj Mahal

Today marks a beautiful transition as we leave the capital behind and head toward Agra, home to the monument that’s probably been on your bucket list forever – the Taj Mahal. But we’re not rushing there just yet. The journey itself is part of the experience, and trust us, by the end of today, you’ll already be planning your Instagram posts!

After a leisurely breakfast at your hotel, your private driver will be ready to take you on the comfortable 3-4 hour drive to Agra via the excellent Yamuna Expressway. This isn’t your typical road trip – you’ll be relaxing in your air-conditioned luxury vehicle, with bottled water always available, watching the Indian countryside roll by. You’ll see villages, farmlands, and gradually, the landscape will change as we approach Agra.

When you arrive in Agra, prepare to have your breath taken away – not by the Taj Mahal just yet, but by your hotel! We’ve arranged for you to stay at The Oberoi Amarvilas, and here’s why this is special: every single room in this hotel has a view of the Taj Mahal. Imagine opening your curtains and there it is, the world’s most beautiful monument, right outside your window. Even before you officially visit it, you can admire it from your room, from the pool, from the restaurant. It’s magical.

After settling in and having lunch, we’ll head out for your first Agra experience – the Agra Fort. Don’t let the Taj Mahal steal all the thunder; the Agra Fort is absolutely magnificent in its own right. This massive red sandstone fortress was home to Mughal emperors, and walking through its palaces, halls, and courtyards, you’ll hear stories of love, betrayal, power, and the emperor Shah Jahan who was imprisoned here by his own son, spending his final years gazing at the Taj Mahal where his beloved wife lay. It’s heartbreaking and beautiful all at once.

As the sun begins to set, we have something special planned. We’ll take you to Mehtab Bagh, the garden complex directly across the Yamuna River from the Taj Mahal. This is where photographers and romantics come to watch the Taj Mahal at sunset, when the white marble seems to glow in shades of pink and gold. It’s quieter than the main complex, and the view across the river is absolutely stunning. Bring your camera, but also take a moment to just sit and absorb the scene – this is one of those travel moments you’ll remember forever.

Evening is free for you to enjoy your hotel’s amenities, perhaps dining at one of its restaurants while gazing at the illuminated Taj Mahal in the distance.

Day 4: Taj Mahal at Sunrise & More Agra Wonders

Set your alarm early today because you’re about to have one of the most extraordinary experiences of your life. We’re taking you to see the Taj Mahal at sunrise, and this isn’t just about checking off a bucket list item – this is about witnessing something that has moved people to tears for nearly 400 years.

Your guide will meet you in the hotel lobby before dawn (yes, it’s early, but so worth it!), and we’ll head to the Taj Mahal to arrive just as the gates open. Here’s why sunrise is magical: the crowds are minimal, the air is cool and fresh, and most importantly, you get to watch the Taj Mahal transform as the first rays of sunlight touch its white marble. The monument literally changes colors – from soft grey to pink to dazzling white – right before your eyes. As you walk through the main gate and that iconic view appears, many visitors find themselves getting emotional. This is that moment you’ve seen in countless photos, but nothing prepares you for the real thing.

Your expert guide will share the love story of Emperor Shah Jahan and his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, for whom this monument was built. You’ll learn about the 22 years it took to complete, the 20,000 artisans who worked on it, and the incredible architectural details – the precious stones inlaid in floral patterns, the perfect symmetry, the way the entire structure seems to float. You’ll have plenty of time to explore, take photos from different angles, and just sit and marvel at the beauty of it all.

After this incredible experience, we’ll head back to your hotel for a well-deserved breakfast. You can take some time to relax by the pool or in your room – you’ve earned it! Later in the morning, we’ll visit Itimad-ud-Daulah, often called the “Baby Taj.” This is actually the tomb that inspired many design elements of the Taj Mahal, and it’s absolutely beautiful in its own right. What makes it special is the intricate marble inlay work – it’s like the Taj Mahal’s elegant little sister, and because fewer tourists visit here, you can enjoy it in relative peace.

The afternoon is yours to enjoy as you wish. Many of our guests love spending time at the hotel, perhaps getting a spa treatment or simply relaxing while gazing at the Taj Mahal from their room. Others like to explore the local markets – your guide can take you to shops where you can watch marble artisans at work and perhaps purchase some beautiful inlay pieces to take home. We’ll also visit Fatehpur Sikri, the magnificent abandoned Mughal city just outside Agra. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is incredibly well-preserved and gives you a fascinating glimpse into Mughal life. Walking through its empty palaces and courtyards feels like stepping back in time.

  • Early morning wake-up call (around 5:30-6:00 AM)

Day 5: Agra to Jaipur – The Pink City Awaits

Today we’re trading the white marble beauty of Agra for the rosy-pink charm of Jaipur, but the journey between these two cities is far from boring. In fact, we’ve planned some incredible stops along the way that’ll make this drive one of the highlights of your trip.

After a relaxed breakfast and checkout from your hotel (take one last look at that Taj Mahal view!), we’ll hit the road for Jaipur. The drive takes about 5-6 hours, but with our comfortable vehicle and fascinating stops, it’ll fly by. First up is Fatehpur Sikri (if you haven’t visited it on Day 4), the incredibly well-preserved ancient Mughal capital that Emperor Akbar built and then mysteriously abandoned. Walking through this ghost city, you’ll explore grand courtyards, beautiful palaces, and the stunning Buland Darwaza, one of the highest gateways in the world. Your guide will tell you stories of royal intrigue and the mystery of why this magnificent city was deserted after just 14 years.

Next, we’ll stop at Abhaneri to see Chand Baori, one of India’s most stunning stepwells. Prepare to have your mind blown – this isn’t just a well, it’s a geometric masterpiece with 3,500 narrow steps arranged in perfect symmetry, descending 13 stories into the earth. It looks like something from a fantasy movie, and it’s an incredible photo opportunity. Your guide will explain how these stepwells were essential for water storage in Rajasthan’s desert climate.

By afternoon, we’ll arrive in Jaipur, the “Pink City,” and what a change of scenery! Where Delhi was bustling and Agra was romantic, Jaipur is regal, colorful, and full of character. You’ll check into either the famous Rambagh Palace (a real maharaja’s palace turned hotel – how cool is that?!) or The Oberoi Rajvilas, both offering royal treatment that’ll make you feel like Indian royalty.

After settling in, the evening is yours to start soaking in Jaipur’s unique atmosphere. Many guests love to take a walk around the hotel’s beautiful gardens or get a traditional Rajasthani spa treatment. We can arrange for a special welcome dinner featuring authentic Rajasthani cuisine – think rich curries, tandoori specialties, and unique dishes you won’t find anywhere else in India. Some packages even include a cultural performance with traditional music and dance, which is a perfect introduction to Rajasthan’s vibrant culture.

Day 6: Full Day Jaipur – Palaces, Forts, and Pink City Magic

Today is all about Jaipur, and we’ve packed it with incredible experiences that showcase why this city captures everyone’s heart. From majestic hilltop forts to architectural marvels and bustling bazaars, today you’ll see the best of what the Pink City has to offer.

The morning starts with probably the most exciting part – heading up to Amber Fort. Now, here’s where it gets fun: you can choose to ride up to the fort on an elephant (a truly royal experience!) or take a comfortable jeep ride – both give you spectacular views of the surrounding hills and lakes. Amber Fort is a stunning example of Rajput architecture, and as you walk through its palaces, you’ll be amazed by the Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace), where thousands of tiny mirrors are embedded in the walls and ceiling. Your guide will demonstrate how even a single candle can create the effect of a thousand stars – it’s absolutely enchanting.

As we descend from Amber Fort, we’ll make a quick photo stop at Jal Mahal, the beautiful Water Palace that seems to float in the middle of Man Sagar Lake. It’s one of those Instagram-perfect moments that’ll make everyone back home jealous!

After all that exploring, you’ll be ready for lunch at one of Jaipur’s heritage restaurants like 1135 AD (located inside Amber Fort itself) or Samode Haveli, where you can dine in a traditional haveli setting and taste authentic Rajasthani thali – a complete meal served in multiple small bowls that lets you sample various local dishes all at once.

The afternoon takes you into the heart of the Pink City. First stop is the City Palace, still home to Jaipur’s royal family, where you can explore museums filled with royal artifacts, see beautiful courtyards, and admire the blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. Right next door is Jantar Mantar, and this place is fascinating – it’s an astronomical observatory built in the 1700s with giant stone instruments that were used to track stars and planets. Your guide will show you how these ancient instruments work, and you’ll be amazed at how accurate they are.

Then comes Hawa Mahal, the Palace of Winds, with its famous honeycomb facade of 953 pink sandstone windows. This was built so royal women could watch street festivals while remaining unseen. While we can only view it from the outside (the inside is quite plain), the façade is absolutely stunning, especially in the late afternoon light.

The evening is yours to explore Jaipur’s famous bazaars. Johari Bazaar is heaven for jewelry lovers, Bapu Bazaar is perfect for textiles and handicrafts, and your guide can help you navigate, bargain, and find authentic pieces. This is Rajasthan – you’ll find beautiful block-printed fabrics, traditional mojari shoes, blue pottery, and gorgeous jewelry at prices that’ll make you want to buy everything!

Day 7: More Jaipur Exploration & Return to Delhi

Your last full day has arrived, but we’re not done showing you Jaipur’s treasures! Today combines some final sightseeing with opportunities for unique experiences before we head back to Delhi.

The morning could start with an optional hot air balloon ride (seasonal, October to March) that gives you a bird’s eye view of Jaipur’s palaces and the surrounding Aravalli hills – it’s an unforgettable way to see the Pink City if you’re up for an adventure! Otherwise, we’ll visit Nahargarh Fort, perched on the edge of the Aravalli Hills. The views from here are spectacular – you can see the entire city of Jaipur laid out below, and it’s a perfect spot for those final photos. The fort itself is less crowded than others but equally beautiful, with interesting history about how it protected the city.

Here’s something special we can arrange: a hands-on workshop experience. Jaipur is famous for its crafts, and you can try your hand at either block printing (creating those beautiful patterns on fabric), blue pottery painting, or even a jewelry-making session where you’ll learn how precious stones are set. These workshops are run by local artisans who love sharing their craft, and you’ll take home something you made yourself – a truly unique souvenir!

After lunch at a beautiful heritage haveli, you have options. Some guests prefer to visit the Albert Hall Museum, Jaipur’s oldest museum housed in a stunning building that looks magical at sunset. Others choose to spend their last afternoon relaxing at the hotel, perhaps by the pool or with one final spa treatment. If shopping is calling your name, your guide can take you to the best spots for last-minute purchases – Rajasthani textiles, silver jewelry, or traditional miniature paintings.

As evening approaches, we’ll have a special farewell dinner arranged, either at a rooftop restaurant overlooking the city or at your hotel. This is your chance to savor one last round of amazing Indian cuisine and reflect on the incredible week you’ve had.

Then comes the journey back to Delhi. We’ll time it so you arrive at your Delhi hotel in the evening, giving you time to settle in and pack for your departure tomorrow. The drive back is comfortable, and by now, your driver feels like an old friend. You’ll watch the landscape change once again, carrying with you a camera full of photos and a heart full of memories.

Day 8: Departure Day – Until We Meet Again

Your final morning in India has arrived, and while it’s bittersweet, you’re leaving with memories that’ll last a lifetime. Depending on your flight time, we’ve designed this day to be as stress-free as possible, because we know goodbyes are hard enough without rushing around!

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel – take your time, maybe order that Indian dish you fell in love with one more time, or stick with comfort foods if you’re feeling nostalgic already. This is your time to reflect on everything you’ve experienced over the past week. Remember arriving at this very hotel on Day 1, maybe a bit nervous about what lay ahead? Look at you now – you’ve explored three magnificent cities, witnessed some of the world’s most beautiful monuments, tasted incredible food, met wonderful people, and experienced a culture that’s probably very different from anything you’ve known before.

If your flight is in the afternoon or evening, we can arrange some final activities. Maybe a quick visit to a nearby market for last-minute shopping? Or perhaps you’d like to visit a monument in Delhi that you didn’t get to see earlier? Your guide and driver are flexible and happy to accommodate. Some guests just prefer to enjoy their hotel’s facilities one last time – maybe a final swim in the pool, a relaxing spa treatment, or simply sitting in the garden with a cup of chai, letting it all sink in.

When it’s time, your driver will load up your luggage (which is probably heavier now with all those souvenirs!) and take you to Indira Gandhi International Airport. We’ve timed it perfectly so you arrive with plenty of time for check-in and security, but not so early that you’re sitting around bored. Your driver will help with your bags and make sure you’re all set before saying goodbye.

As you board your flight home, you’ll likely find yourself already missing India – the colors, the chaos, the kindness, the incredible history around every corner. But here’s the beautiful thing: India has a way of calling people back. Many of our guests tell us, “This was supposed to be a once-in-a-lifetime trip,” and then we see them again a year or two later, ready to explore more of this incredible country. Whether this is your only visit or the first of many, you’re leaving as part of our travel family, and we’re so grateful to have been part of your journey.

Safe travels, and until we meet again – or as we say in India, “Phir milenge!”

FAQ's

Absolutely! We designed this tour specifically with first-time visitors in mind. We understand that visiting India can feel overwhelming, which is why we’ve taken care of every detail. You’ll have a private vehicle and driver throughout, English-speaking guides who are experts at helping international travelers, and you’ll stay in five-star hotels where the staff speaks English and understands Western preferences. We’ve chosen the perfect balance of famous sights and authentic experiences without throwing you into situations that might feel too intense. Plus, our 24/7 customer support means you’re never alone if you have questions or concerns. Think of us as your trusted friend who knows India inside and out – we’ve got your back every step of the way!

When we say luxury, we mean it! You’ll be staying at properties like The Oberoi, The Leela Palace, Rambagh Palace, and similar five-star hotels that are among the best in India. These hotels offer spacious, beautifully appointed rooms with all modern amenities (yes, air conditioning, hot water, comfortable beds with high-quality linens, wifi, flat-screen TVs – everything you’re used to at home). Most importantly, these hotels have excellent restaurants serving both Indian and international cuisine, so if you’re having a day where Indian food feels like too much, you can always get pasta or a burger. They also have world-class spas, beautiful pools, and incredibly trained staff who go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. The Oberoi Amarvilas in Agra deserves special mention – every room has a view of the Taj Mahal, which is absolutely magical. Daily breakfast is included at all hotels, featuring both Indian and continental options.

Great question! While this tour does involve visiting monuments and forts, we’ve paced it thoughtfully so it’s manageable for most fitness levels. You’ll definitely be doing some walking – places like the Taj Mahal, Amber Fort, and various palaces require walking to fully appreciate them. However, we build in plenty of breaks, and you’re never rushed. At most monuments, there are rest areas where you can sit if needed. The rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk means you’re not walking through those markets. At Amber Fort, you have the option of an elephant or jeep ride up to the entrance, so you’re not climbing all those stairs. If you have mobility concerns, please let us know in advance, and we can make adjustments – for example, we can arrange a wheelchair at certain monuments or modify the itinerary. Most of our guests, including those in their 60s and 70s, complete this tour comfortably. We recommend comfortable walking shoes, and remember, you can always take things at your own pace.

Food safety is a totally valid concern, and we’ve got you covered! First, all the restaurants we take you to are carefully vetted – these are clean, high-quality establishments used to serving international tourists. Your luxury hotels have excellent restaurants with very high hygiene standards. We always provide bottled water in your vehicle, and we recommend sticking to bottled water throughout your trip (never drink tap water, even for brushing teeth). As for the food itself, yes, Indian cuisine can be spicy, but your guides will help you order dishes that match your comfort level – not everything is super spicy! The hotels serve international food if you need a break from Indian cuisine. Our guides will also steer you toward safe street food options if you want to try them – there are places that are perfectly safe for tourists. We recommend bringing some over-the-counter stomach medications just in case (Imodium, Pepto-Bismol), but honestly, most of our guests have no issues. Start with milder dishes and work your way up, wash your hands frequently or use hand sanitizer, and listen to your guide’s advice about what to eat and where.

The drives are actually quite comfortable and part of the experience! You’ll be in a private, air-conditioned vehicle (usually a Toyota Innova or similar comfortable car) with a professional driver who’s done this route hundreds of times. The Delhi-Agra route uses the excellent Yamuna Expressway, which is a modern, well-maintained highway. The Agra-Jaipur route takes longer but includes those fascinating stops at Fatehpur Sikri and Chand Baori, which break up the journey nicely. Your vehicle will have bottled water, and we make rest stops along the way. The drives give you a chance to see rural India, chat with your guide about what you’re seeing, or just relax and enjoy the scenery. Many guests tell us they actually enjoyed the drives because it gave them time to process everything they’d seen and rest between the more active sightseeing days. You’re not cramped in a bus with strangers – this is your private vehicle, so you can ask the driver to stop if you need a restroom break or want to take a photo of something interesting.

The ideal time is from October through March, when the weather in northern India is absolutely perfect for sightseeing. October and November offer pleasant temperatures (around 70-80°F during the day), clear skies, and festive atmosphere with Diwali celebrations. December through February is peak season with cooler weather (50-70°F) – you might need a light jacket in the mornings and evenings, but days are sunny and comfortable. March is lovely too, with slightly warmer temperatures as spring arrives. We strongly recommend avoiding April through September – April and May are extremely hot (over 100°F), and June through September is monsoon season with heavy rains and humidity. The weather really does make a huge difference in your enjoyment, so those October-March months are worth planning around. The one consideration is that December and January are peak tourist season, so monuments will be more crowded (though our sunrise Taj Mahal visit helps avoid the worst crowds). If you want fewer tourists, October, November, or February-March are excellent choices.

Yes, this tour is very safe for solo travelers and women traveling alone. You’re never actually alone – you’ll have your driver and guide with you throughout the days, and you’re staying in secure five-star hotels with excellent safety standards. Many of our guests are solo travelers, including women, and they’ve had wonderful experiences. The private nature of this tour (not a group tour with strangers) adds an extra layer of comfort and security. Your guide acts not just as a tour leader but as a protector who’ll make sure you’re safe and comfortable. That said, we always recommend common-sense precautions: keep your room locked, don’t flash expensive jewelry or large amounts of cash, and follow your guide’s advice about which areas are fine to explore on your own and which aren’t. Indian culture is generally very respectful toward tourists, and being with a tour company provides a buffer from any unwanted attention. Our 24/7 customer support means you can reach us any time if you have concerns. Many solo travelers, especially women, tell us this tour gave them the confidence to explore India in a way they wouldn’t have attempted independently.

Absolutely! This is actually easier in India than you might think. Indian cuisine naturally offers tons of vegetarian and vegan options – in fact, many Indians are vegetarian, so vegetarian food is delicious and plentiful, not an afterthought. If you’re gluten-free, there are rice-based dishes and naturally gluten-free options. For other allergies or dietary restrictions, just let us know when you book, and we’ll inform all the restaurants and hotels. The luxury hotels we use are very experienced with dietary requirements and can accommodate virtually anything. Your guide will also help you navigate menus and communicate your needs at restaurants. If you have severe allergies, we recommend bringing a card written in Hindi explaining your allergy, which we can help you create. Indian cuisine is so diverse that even with restrictions, you’ll have plenty of delicious options. And remember, the hotels serve international cuisine too, so you’ll never be stuck without something safe to eat.

Pack light and comfortable! Here’s what we recommend: Comfortable walking shoes are essential (sneakers or walking sandals with good support). Bring modest clothing – India is relatively conservative, so shoulders and knees should generally be covered when visiting religious sites. Lightweight, breathable fabrics work best. Women should pack scarves (useful for covering shoulders/heads at religious sites and protecting from sun). Sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses are must-haves. A small daypack for carrying water, camera, and essentials during sightseeing. Any medications you need, plus basics like stomach meds and hand sanitizer. Dressy casual outfits for hotel dinners. A light jacket or sweater for air-conditioned vehicles and hotels (and for winter evenings). Power adapter for Indian outlets (different from US/Europe). Camera with extra batteries/memory cards. Don’t overpack – your luxury hotels have laundry services! And remember, you can buy beautiful scarves, textiles, and clothing in India if you need anything. Leave room in your suitcase for souvenirs!

Tipping isn’t mandatory in India but is appreciated and expected for good service, similar to the U.S. Here are general guidelines: Your driver might receive $3-5 per day (total for your group if traveling with others), and your guide might receive $5-10 per day depending on their service quality. At hotels, tip bellhops $1-2 per bag, housekeeping $2-3 per day, and restaurants 10% if service charge isn’t included (check the bill). At monuments, if someone unofficial shows you around or takes your photo, $1-2 is appropriate. For a tour like this, budget roughly $100-150 per person for tipping throughout the week. Remember, these are just guidelines – tip based on the service you receive. Your guide and driver work hard to make your experience special, so good tips are meaningful to them. Always have small bills (rupees) available for tipping. If you’re unsure in any situation, ask your guide – they’re happy to advise on appropriate amounts.

Yes! While we’ve designed what we consider the perfect 8-day Golden Triangle itinerary, we understand that every traveler is different. Want to skip a monument and spend more time shopping? No problem. Interested in adding a cooking class or yoga session? We can arrange that. Need to adjust timing because you’re traveling with kids or elderly parents? We’ll make it work. Want to upgrade to even more luxurious hotels or add a spa day? Absolutely. Some guests ask to extend the tour to include places like Udaipur or Ranthambore National Park (for tiger spotting) – we can definitely help with that too. The beauty of a private tour is flexibility. Just let us know what interests you most, what pace you prefer, and any special interests (photography, architecture, food, shopping, spirituality), and we’ll tailor the experience. The itinerary we’ve described is our recommended route based on what most first-time visitors love, but your tour can be as unique as you are. Contact us to discuss customization options!

Your safety and wellbeing are our top priorities, and we have systems in place for any situation. First, you’ll have a local phone number for 24/7 customer support – you can call us any time, day or night, if anything comes up. Your guide’s phone number will also be available to you always. The luxury hotels we use all have doctors on call, and there are excellent private hospitals in Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur that cater to international patients if needed (we’ll accompany you if necessary). Your driver knows the locations of hospitals and can get you there quickly. We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance before your trip (it’s actually a requirement for this tour) that covers medical emergencies, trip cancellation, and evacuation. In case of flight cancellations, family emergencies back home, or other unexpected situations, we’ll work with you to adjust the itinerary or arrange early departure if needed. We’ve handled all kinds of situations over the years – from guests getting mild stomach bugs (very treatable) to family emergencies requiring early departure – and we pride ourselves on taking care of our travelers like family. You’re never alone or stranded.

This is a common concern, and we’ve structured the tour to minimize these situations. At major monuments, yes, you might encounter vendors and people asking for photos or tips, but your guide acts as a buffer and will politely handle them. They’re experts at saying “no thank you” firmly but kindly, so you don’t have to. The luxury hotels and vetted restaurants we use don’t have this issue at all. When we take you to markets, your guide will take you to reputable shops where there’s no pressure – you’re free to browse and buy only if you want to. At monuments, if someone offers to show you around or take your photo, understand that they’re expecting a small tip – your guide will help you navigate these situations. The private nature of this tour (not being in a big tourist group) actually helps because you’re less of a target. Yes, you’ll encounter poverty in India – it’s part of the reality. If you want to give to beggars, your guide can suggest ways to do so thoughtfully (like supporting children who are actually going to school), but you’re never obligated. Many of our first-time visitors worry about this beforehand and then tell us afterward that it wasn’t as overwhelming as they expected, largely because the guide handles most interactions.

We believe in complete transparency, so let’s be clear about what’s included and what’s not. The tour price includes all transportation, accommodation, daily breakfast, your guide, all entrance fees to monuments, the elephant/jeep ride at Amber Fort, rickshaw ride, and welcome/farewell dinners. What’s NOT included: your international flights to/from India, visa fees (you’ll need a tourist visa), lunches and most dinners (typically $10-30 per meal depending on where you eat), alcoholic beverages, personal shopping, tips for guides and drivers, spa treatments, any optional activities like hot air ballooning, and travel insurance. You should budget roughly $300-500 per person for meals not included, tips, and incidentals over the week, plus whatever you want to spend on shopping (which can range from $50 to $500+ depending on your interests). Some monuments charge extra if you want to bring a camera or video camera inside (usually $2-5), though your phone is typically free. There are no surprise fees or commissions we’re making on shopping – the itinerary is what we’ve described, and the price is the price. If you want to add anything extra (like that hot air balloon ride or additional spa treatments), we’ll quote those costs separately upfront.

Booking is easy! Contact us through our website, email, or phone, and one of our travel specialists will work with you to confirm dates, discuss any customizations you want, and answer all your questions. We typically require a deposit (usually 25-30% of the total) to confirm your booking, with the balance due 30-45 days before your departure. We accept major credit cards, bank transfers, and PayPal. As for cancellations, our standard policy is: If you cancel more than 60 days before departure, you’ll receive a full refund minus a small administrative fee. 30-60 days before departure, you’ll receive 50% refund. Less than 30 days before departure, the tour is non-refundable (which is why we strongly encourage travel insurance that covers trip cancellation). However, if you need to reschedule rather than cancel, we’re flexible and will work with you to move your dates (subject to availability) with minimal fees. Force majeure situations (natural disasters, pandemics, etc.) are handled individually and compassionately. We’re a family-run business that’s been doing this for years, and we want happy customers who recommend us to friends – we’re reasonable and fair about these policies. The key is communication: the earlier you let us know about any issues, the more options we have to help you.
